Daniela Harkin-Yarwood

Bachelor of Nursing (Hons), PGCE

Owner of First Aid Cymru

Meet Daniela.

First Aid Cymru was born out of a life-changing moment. When Daniela's daughter suffered a time-critical medical emergency at just eight months old, her quick thinking and first aid knowledge saved her child's life. That experience not only reaffirmed the importance of first aid in Daniela's mind - it sparked a mission. Daniela founded First Aid Cymru to ensure that more people have the knowledge and confidence to act in those crucial moments when every second counts.

A Senior Staff Nurse in the NHS with over a decade of experience, Daniela has spent much of her career keeping the public safe, including seven years in Neonatal Intensive Care. There, she regularly performs resuscitations and handles high-pressure situations as part of her daily routine. This frontline experience, both in and out of the hospital, sets her training apart - offering practical, real-world insight that simply can't be found in a textbook.

Daniela is also a qualified teacher with a PGCE, which means her training sessions are not only clinically accurate but also clear, engaging, and tailored to her audience. Whether you’re a parent, healthcare professional, or business owner, Daniela's expert knowledge and personal experience make her uniquely equipped to teach you how to save a life - because she’s done it herself. Take a look at the Testimonials page to see what other people think makes First Aid Cymru so special.

At First Aid Cymru, the training is more than a tick-box exercise. It’s a chance to gain life-saving skills from someone who truly understands what's at stake.
